Inspiring Action

A video from Simon Sinek on leadership. Why > How > What, his golden circle, is an interesting way to think about affecting change. I thought about this recently when presenting at our leadership retreat and expanding our G21 project-based framework.

Why would we expand a program that involves professional development and requires teachers to follow (for many) an unfamiliar project-based lesson approach? Because there’s compelling evidence kids don’t learn well in classrooms with rows of chairs, textbooks as their only guide, and we think we have an approach offers a better-quality learning experience. Focus on the why.

His point about the personalities, of intuitive actors being innovators, describes my own personality (INTJ) and why I probably got the iPhone and iPad on days one.
