- A Reflection on Leadership Presence – from The King’s Speech
- Developing Advocacy Leadership – this page outlines some of the coursework I completed for EDLP 709, focusing on advocacy strategies for under-represented groups. I focused on combatting the digital divide in my coursework.
- EDLP 709 – Action Plan and Review – this was part of our online course, where we developed an advocacy plan. This is not a real plan that was implemented.
Outside of VCU
A regional technology conference
I had a successful time delivering a keynote speech at the Mary Washington second annual EdTech Conference in Stafford County. A copy of my slides are available here.
School Board Meeting Presentation and Honor
On July 10, 2012, I was back in my seat streaming the school board meeting for Goochland County Schools. To my surprise, I was recognized for my nomination earlier this year for the RichTech Award, for which I was a finalist in the education category. I didn’t expect a special guest to be there, and she was too kind with some nice things to say about me. I was unprepared for what to say.
In the latter part of the meeting, linked above, I presented to the school board about our website overhaul I have been working on since May. It was a good opportunity to speak in front of the board and answer their questions.
Training Opportunity with Scratch
I’m a big believer in the use of constructionist ways of learning. This week I had the opportunity to take time off and do training with teachers from different parts of central Virginia with a software environment called Scratch. Details about my experience are linked here.
