Today I helped put Goochland County Schools on a new map–of K-12 school districts participating in Apple’s iTunes U.
Using the power of RSS, we’ll be able to publish student artifacts, eBooks and interactive textbooks, in addition to PDF files, video tutorials, and our teacher G21 project through this new portal. All the content shared through iTunes U from Goochland is free and supports my own feeling about keeping quality content open and available to others in the field of education.
Goochland County Public Schools is the first individual school division in Virginia to appear on iTunes U. It also joins just a handful of other districts and larger consortia of districts as the first players in this exciting new platform for learning. iTunes U is available through iTunes on any computer with iTunes installed; it’s also available through a new app under iOS 5 for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPads.
